What’s a lightning voucher?

Azteco offers two kinds of bitcoin vouchers:

An Azteco lightning voucher uses the Bitcoin Lightning Network to transfer your bitcoin.

  • Lightning transactions are completed in a few seconds and network processing fees are typically less than a few cents.
  • Lightning transactions are quicker and less expensive than on-chain transactions. However, not all bitcoin wallets support lightning today. See our list of suggested bitcoin wallets for more details.

To redeem an Azteco lightning voucher, you need to:

  • Launch your bitcoin wallet app
  • Select “Receive” to scan a QR code.
  • Scan the QR code on your voucher to receive your bitcoin.
